Parkites and visitors were treated to blue skies for the 2016 Miners’ Day parade down historic Main Street to City Park. Over 50 c0mmunity organizations and politicians entered floats in the parade, with some outstanding creativity.
It was the 199th running of Miners’ Day, which began in the 19th century as a festival to honor the community’s miners with the parade plus the mucking and drilling competition becoming mainstays of the festival.
