Miners’ Day features an entire afternoon of fun for kids and the whole family in City Park from noon to 4:00 p.m.
A highlight every year at Miners’ Day are the Kids Races featuring Olympic-like competition on the City Park playing field in front of the band stand. Moms and dads, get your kids ready! Plenty of prizes for all in running race, sack race (gunny sacks provided) and the wheel barrow race. The action starts at 12:30 p.m., with a series of races for kids of all ages. There are fun prizes for all!
New this year, you can send a cop into the water in a good old fashioned dunking tank. Proceeds benefit the Fraternal Order of Police. Also new, ‘big kids’ can ride a mechanical bull.
All afternoon long, kids will love the bouncy houses, fun craft booths, climbing wall and a big red fire truck.
